Many hours go into creating my hand bound journals, they are all different and one of a kind pieces. This journal measures approx 7" x 4.5", it is packed with hand dyed pages and ephemera, collected together in four "sewn in" signatures.
The blank pages are dyed with coffee and aged with walnut inks, the papers consist of lining papers, old school book papers, khadi paper and more.
There are tuck spots and pockets scattered throughout the journal and some hold my handmade tags. Little fabric accents appear throughout the pages as well as lots of thread and vintage lace scraps and buttons. A few of my waxed teabags are enclosed, one holding a pressed flower.
Pieces of ephemera can be found as you turn the pages, to include old maps, book pages, music sheet, vintage photographs and book illustrations.
There are over 70 pages, with fabric and trim bursting from the sides. The whole journal can be closed using the cord attached to the vintage button clasps at the front and back.
A quick flip through can be viewed in the video to the right, but if you wish to see a more detailed flip through, this can be found on the Maygreen Fairies Facebook page.
I am often commissioned to create my junk journals for weddings, christenings as general gifts, and even funerals, contact me if you wish a bespoke journal to be created for you.
